Nesbitt's Knee & Barbour Falls
Meet at Our Shop
Our tour typically starts at 10 am from our shop in Tumbler Ridge so that we can get forms signed, and go over our checklist to make sure everyone has the gear they need. We will then drive out to the traihead (approx. 25-30 min drive)
Barbour Falls
Instead of taking the regular summer trail, we will travel directly up the creek to Barbour Falls taking roughly 1.5 km to get there. Once there, depending on weather conditions, you have the chance to see a rare phenomenon in the pool below Barbour Falls. At certain times of the year, ice gets broken up by the force of the waterfall and then the pieces bang against each other to form shapes similar to lilypads floating in a pond.
Nesbitt's Knee Falls
We will return the 1.5 km we came to the trucks, and then drive a little bit further down the road to park in front of Nesbitt's Knee Creek. From here, we will snowshoe 1.5 km up the creek towards the falls. This creek is quite scenic with some pretty rock formations along the way. Once we reach the falls, we'll stop for photos and some hot chocolate before returning to the trucks.
Return to Town
Once we return to the trucks, we can lead you back into town, or split ways if you are taking the Heritage Highway. Either way we'll look forward to seeing you on your next adventure
