Our Story

When Randy was 14 years old he travelled with his sister and brother-in-law from Grande Prairie through the Monkman Pass to explore the backcountry in the Kinuseo Falls area. This was long before Tumbler Ridge existed and the area that would become Monkman Park was designated as a BC Provincial Park. It catalysed a lifetime of enjoying the outdoors, particularly in the Kinuseo/Monkman area. When Randy and Roxanne met, Randy shared his love for this area with Roxanne, and in 2001 they were married across from Kinuseo Fall on the island at the base of the falls.

They soon added three children to their family: Alexandra, Calcifer, and Savannah. From an early age, they were introduced to outdoor adventures, whether that was boating in the summer or snowmobiling in the winter. Randy will still brag to this day that the first thing Alexandra experienced after leaving the hospital of her birth was a boating trip when she was three days old.

Tumbler Ridge went from a frequent weekend trip to the family home when in August of 2011, Randy and Roxanne with their three children moved to the town. In addition to being part of a rental business,  Randy used his love of riverboating to create a tourism business - jet boat tours to Kinuseo Falls. His three children grew up helping on tours and were adventure testers on family outings.

Today, Wild River Adventure Tours has grown into a year-round tourism business with adventures beyond just Kinuseo Falls. And we hope that in creating these adventures, we can foster the same love we have for the area in our customers.
